British Telecom

How many telephone calls to the British Telecom customer service do you think qualify as harassment, or qualify me for a prize for loyalty? I think I am getting close!

Delivery Options

First online grocery shopping experience.. I did like the idea a lot, i like to shop for food and it is also a way to keep me busy, ma everyone does it here since there are no big supermarkets in the City Centre. Veggies at the farmer's market, meat at the butcher but for pasta, oil salt, cereals...there the computer.
The food arrive dontime, delivered at our apartment, with everything we had ordered...and I felt a complete city girl.

"I don't use the microwave. In 4 years I showed to the Americans that you can live without. You just need to be organized. Decide what you are going to eat for dinner in morning and take it out the freezer. Food heated up on the stove is more tasty, the bread does not get soak...in other worlds microwave is for lazy"

I found a microwave in the apartment here in the UK: I used it almost everyday and cannot picture to live without...

I was thinking about opening a blog's spin-off. I would title it" "The real housewife of the British Midlands" and I would give you suggestions on which toaster functions are important, where to find fresher and cheaper veggies, where to buy discounted Botanic Garden's dishes etc...
Basically this what I have been doing since I moved here. Wondering around (trying not to get kill crossing the streets) and buying house stuff. My "to buy" list is never over, every time I cross an item I add two more.
This going around buying stuff could sound fun, but given that I did it already, and some of the items I bought in the US are crossing the Atlantic to arrive in Europe but are not getting here on time, I feel I am doing double work. Anyway, we can't survive without a hair dryer if we want to keep our health and not end up with a sinus infection.
This past week reminded me a lot of my first week in the US, driving around trying to understand where to buy what I needed and how everything worked; long days waiting for Marco to come back from work, and a lot of internet.
I guess I will soon start looking for something real to do or at least for places to go where I can meet people, but first I have to hang the clothes to dry and start the dishwasher.

Here comes the sun...lalalalala

La gente è euforica, tutti in giro, all'aperto.

Three sunny days. I am not talking "semi-cloudy days", but fully and completely sunny.
I did not want to write it since I was afraid to jinx it.
People are euphoric, they are all outside either laying on every possible green spot or drinking huge beers outside.

Since it is usually cold, even if sunny, I went outside around 1 pm ready to face the North Pole. I tried to look comfortable while everybody else was dressing like Californians, but at the first small hill I had to give up and take off the jacket. At the second hill I took off the sweater, at the third one I would have love to take my shirt off but I didn't have anything suitable under.
I took pictures but the sun was shining so much that in some of them the sky seems gray, uff.
Disclaimer: the pictures are taken with the sole intent of showing the cutest spots I saw today and the ones with more sun. They are by no means a representation on how the city really is in normal conditions :)
