Scioglilingua

Il mio corso d'inglese è finito. Venerdì c'è stata una piccola cerimonia ufficiale di graduation, pranzo e saluti.
Mi fa sempre una strana sensazione salutare le persone con cui, seppur per un breve periodo, ho diviso del tempo, delle emozioni, delle risate e pensare che alcune di queste non le rivedrò probabilmente più.

Giovedì sera siamo stati a festeggiare, in maniera meno formale che venrdì, ad un ristorante libanese. Non avevo mai assaggiato la cucina del middle east e devo dire che ne sono rimasta piacevolmente impressionata.
Vi scrivo una poesia che ci ha fatto impazzire nella classe di Fluency and Conversation. Cimentatevi! A questo sito trovate la pronuncia (un po' british, direbbe Marco storcendo il naso).

I take it you already know
Of tough and bough and cough and dough?
Others may stumble, but not you
On hiccough, thorough, slough, and through.

Beware of heard, a dreadful word
That looks like beard but sounds like bird.

A dreadful Language? Why man alive!
I learned to talk it when I was five.
And yet to write it, the more I tried,
I hadn't learned it at fifty-five.
